Associate Psychologists | Couples & Family and Individual Therapy (Full-Time or Part-Time)

Dr. Hubley Carruthers & Associates Counselling & Psychological Services is growing. We are hiring two associate psychologists, one focused on couples and family therapy and one focused on individual therapy. Both positions are permanent, full-time or part-time, with flexible and negotiable terms.

Location: Nova Scotia

Who We Are Looking For

We welcome applications from clinicians at various career stages, including:

• Fully Registered Psychologists registered with the Nova Scotia Regulator of Psychology (NSRP).
• Candidate Registered Psychologists, with clinical supervision provided toward full registration.
• Master's or Doctoral-Level Psychology Interns who are eligible for the Candidate Register with NSRP.

What You'll Do

• Provide evidence-based individual, couples or family therapy for concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship conflict, grief and life transitions
• Complete assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
• Coordinate care with physicians, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, OTs and rehabilitation professionals
• Maintain clinical records in line with NSRP standards
• Take part in monthly case consultations and team meetings

Clinical Approaches & Qualifications

• Core Modalities: Formal training or clinical experience in evidence-based approaches, such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
• Additional Assets: Background or training in Somatic Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), or Psychodynamic Psychotherapy.
• Scope of Practice: Demonstrated experience providing therapy across individual, couple, and family systems.

Requirements

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counselling Psychology
• Comfort with JANE, Zoom and Google Suite or MS Office, or a willingness to learn
